Andrew Getting His Groove On

So this video is sideways and I'm sorry, it's just the way Drew recorded it on his phone. There is no sound, but he is dancing to the Thomas the Train theme song. I have this saved on my phone, so when I need a smile or a laugh I just watch this. I hope you enjoy it to.

Pictures From Andrew's Hospital Stay

I finally got the pictures from Andrews surgery day and the day after loaded onto my computer. The first picture is when we first got there and got him changed into his gown. Then the next 3 are the effects of what I like to call the "happy juice", the medication they give them to help them relax before going back into the or and everything. Then the last one is the day after, Drew is playing with a mini train track and train, while getting him to eat and drink. He has been such an amazing little trooper through all of this. He gives me such strength. I cant believe how happy and playful he still is with his throat hurting. He is so tough!

One More Surgery

On Tuesday January 13th Andrew had an appointment with an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) doctor. In my opinion, the best ever. Dr. Capener. We made him an appointment because he has been drooling non stop for over a year, hasn't eaten very well, is always sick, and his neck looked really puffy. So Zoey and I took him Tuesday afternoon. The doctor took one look inside and said "I can take them out tomorrow", my jaw dropped to the floor! I was so surprised that his tonsils were truly that bad and that he could do it so soon! He said his tonsils were so swollen they were touching and there was zero space between them. So we set the appointment for the surgery to take place Wednesday the 14th. We had to be there at 6:15 Wed. morning to get signed in and prepped. He was totally fine all morning. He didn't know what was going on. He just sat on the bed with me playing with his trains. When it got closer to his turn ( the doc had already completed 3 of the same surgeries by 8 that morning) they gave him what we called happy juice. He wanted juice so bad that morning but since he couldn't have any I felt so bad saying no to him or redirecting his attention somewhere else. So they gave me the tube of "happy juice" and he took it so well. He said "mmmm juice, more please" How sad, :(. Well within about 10 minutes, his body was getting heavier in my arms and he couldn't keep his head up. He would try to lift it up and it would fall to the right or left. It was so cute. The doctor came in to get him with a little red wagon and wheeled him away. That was the hardest part for me. Seeing him go, and I not being able to be with him. It didn't help that he cried for me on his way out. We waited only about 25 minutes before our little pager went off to go talk to the doc after he was done. So we went and met with the doc. He said his tonsils were so swollen they were stuck to his uvula. He had to scrape them apart to get started on removing his tonsils. I felt so bad we didn't get him into the Dr. sooner. We went back into the waiting room while we waited for him to wake up. Only about 10-15 minutes later our pager went off again to go see him. He looked so sweet and peaceful laying on the bed. He was hooked up to an oxygen monitor to track his oxygen levels and an iv was put in his foot. It wasn't very long before we were sent to his room. We were in room 19 at Mt. View Hospital. Only a couple hours past and he was asking for juice and food. We had some nutrigrain bars sitting on the table and he asked for one of those. And since they are soft and mushy they let him have one. He ate like 3 of those and had a bunch of apple juice and sprite. He was such a trooper. He had to stay the night to be monitored since he is under 3 yrs old. Drew stayed the night up there so I could take care of Zoey. He did pretty good through the night. Drew had to keep changing Andrew's position because his oxygen level was dropping but all in all he did well. Zoey and I went up there in the morning and while Andrew was eating his breakfast she told us we could go as soon as he was done eating. So around 9:30 we got all the things cleaned up and his iv out. We were on our way home. He is doing just as good at home. He is eating soft foods and drinking lots of blue Kool-Aid. He is such a strength to me. He has been through a lot and is still smiling and joking around every chance he gets. I'm so thankful for priesthood blessings and for the comfort they give.

New Years Eve

I admit I am a party pooper of a mother as I am told many of times by my sister and mom, but this picture is taken New Years Eve around 8, my kids bed times. After this was taken, they were in bed. No, I didn't let them stay awake. Unlike my niece and nephew my kids still wake up early if they go to bed late. So i don't have any other pictures from the night. We (my sis, her hubby, and kids my momma and stepdad) played wii and ate though and it was really fun. I'm looking forward to what 2009 brings. Happy new year to you all!!

7 Months

Better late than never. So I feel horrible. I didn't get Zoey's 7 month pictures taken until after Christmas which is clearly way after, but I finally did it and here they are. I will be better about it the next few months.

Christmas 2008

Andrew was so excited to wake up Christmas morning to a train table. For the past few months he has been crazy about trains, mostly because his cousin has a train table and tons of trains so when we go play that's what he would do for hours. So that's what he got. He loves it. His excitement and expressions that morning was priceless. I was able to get it on the video camera but not on my digital so I just took pictures of him playing with it. That's all he would do all day. Although he would come open a present then go play, then come open another one, then go play and did that until his presents were all open. All Christmas day he was glued to the table. And still is. First thing in the morning when he wakes up he asks for his trains and goes to the table. The only time he is away from it is to eat and sleep. I'm so glad he loves it. And the excitement for it is still there.

Zoey's first Christmas was perfect. She got a soft plush baby doll, clothes, books, and a few other baby friendly baby toys. She loved tearing the paper apart. She was so dang cute holding onto her gifts and playing with everything around her. She was such a happy smiley baby like always. Christmas is always extra special with a baby around. She has such an amazing spirit with such love in her eyes.

My momma made me the softest blanket ever, I sleep with it every night it keeps me so warm. She also got me a cook book from my most favorite person on The Food Network EVER! Paula Deen! Oh my gosh. So long story.... My momma went to Georgia in October for a sisters mini vacation to see Wicked. Well while they were they they found out Paula Deen was doing a book signing so they went. My momma got my 'My First Cookbook' by Paula. So she signed it an gave me a smiley face cause my momma told her how much I LOVE her and then one of the little girls on the cover signed it and then Paula's cute hubby Michael. It was such a great meaningful gift. It made me cry. I love my momma so much!

Christmas was such an amazing time. With family around and all the love that was being shared. The day was relaxed and just nice. I'm so grateful to have the family that I have and for the spirits that they have. I'm grateful for my elder brother Jesus Christ and that we are able to take this season to remember his birth and the amazing loving life that he lead.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve while we were out looking at lights, Santa Clause dropped off a Christmas Eve present. Every year it's the same. A new pair of p.j.'s. The kids were so cute opening them up. Zoey was a lot more into opening the present then I thought she would be being so little. But she ripped right into it.

My Christmas Babies

I have the most beautiful babies ever. Here are a few pictures of my babies in their Christmas Sunday clothes. They looked so adorable. Zoey looks like an Angel and Andrew looks like a little Gentleman. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of just Andrew because he was done with pictures and his cousins had just got to Makah's so he wanted to go play. So I'm going to have to get a picture of him next time he is wearing his suit.
